Good for a brief walk during the daytime when other people are nearby, but certain not safe after sunset. Don’t appear too much like a tourist, or you may encounter people asking for money.

Loved driving thru this town. Stopped for lunch at old time corner store. LOVED that too. Houses still standing from circa 1800s and beautiful.

Just love the quaint, old fashioned architecture nestled beside more modern structures. Remind me of my days growing up in a tiny village in Antigua. One horse and buggy reserved for hire on special occasions. Nice to see families still enjoying the simple life, riding...More

If you are not going there to see the architecture which can be seen anywhere in old Pennsylvania, then I suggest a miss. We were very disappointed in the town itself. Quite frankly there was nothing worth making thd trip for.

You must go to Lancaster. Not the Amish Lancaster with the buggies, but the actual town. Oldest city in US not on the coast.
