What a tribute to such a great American and super athlete. Beautiful park for memorializing Jim Thorpe, professional baseball, football, gold medal Olympiad and Native American. Enjoyed remembering! Thanks

Jim Thorpe was my boyhood hero. Little park for memorial is nicely done. Appreciated the documentation of Jim Thorpe's accomplishments.

The memorial has a parking lot. The grounds are well kept. This can be your first stop as you come into the town or as your last stop before heading home.

We’d taken a day trip to the town of Jim Thorpe; quaint little town with interesting shops and very friendly shopkeepers. Unfortunately several of the attractions we were interested in were closed, either because of Covid-19 or because it was Wednesday. Before leaving town we had to stop and check out the memorial. We knew he wasn’t from here, and that he was an Olympian, but there was a surprising amount of information about the man on just two bronze plaques. I never knew he played in the NFL and is in its Hall of Fame. I never knew he was referred to as “The greatest athlete in the world.” The tomb itself is interesting in that it all around it there are depictions of the sports he participated in and in the middle of the back side is a depiction of a Native American. It was good to see that particular part of the man being honored as well as the athlete.

If in Jim Thorpe you should at least see his memorial and learn something about him. It’s on the other side of the river so you’d need a car to get there.
