Interesting And Different
Jun 2021
This was an interesting area with quite different flora and with some interesting walk such as the short track to Woolshed Falls , which had no water but were pretty. The road on was unsealed with some pot holes but acceptable. interesting but not great.

Unexpectedly lovely

The Store Creek hike was well worth it. An extremely serene and grounding walking environment. Needed to clamber a little, so not suitable for those unable to climb.

Wonderful National Park
Sep 2020 • Couples
We had a lovely day exploring the Cocopara National Park.
Our first stop was the top of Mt Bingar which had some glimpses of views over the valley below.
Next we went to the Pines Picnic area. There is a nice new bbq, picnic tables and amenities. We did the short, easy walk to the Woolshed Falls but unfortunately if had been quite dry and there were no falls. We had a quick look at the camping ground before
We then went to have a look at Store Creek but it was closed. It would have been great if they had told you this at the entrance board.
We also went to Falcon Falls and again there were no falls but the walk was lovely ending at some rugged rock formations.

Inspiring bush walk
Jun 2019 • Friends
Jacks Creek has a varied and inspiring walk up and around a magnificent gorge. The views from the lookout points go for miles and across the gorge to an array of rock formations and vegetation. Back at the picnic site the bbq is clean and free, there are tables and chairs among the trees and a convenient toilet. This is a great spot for a couple of hours to walk and picnic and then go and explore the other areas of the park. Lovely day.

I love Cocoparra NP. Granted, it's not for everyone. Because to get the most out of the park you have to get out of your car and walk.
Woolshed Flats camp ground is a nice drive in and OK for access in a car without particularly high clearance. The camp ground itself is large and well maintained with clean drop holes and BBQ area with free gas barbecues and tank water. Fire pits with a swing-arm for your billy are provided, but being a national park, you need to bring your own fire wood. This is also a great spot for bird watching.
The sign posted walks in the park are sensational for dry area walking and seasonal changes are obvious through the year.
The Pines near Woolshed Flats is probably the easiest and most shaded.
Jack's Creek is the best walk for a newbie to the park, and the hardest, but by no means difficult. My recommendation is to walk the Jack's Creek loop in the OPPOSITE direction of the signage, especially if it is your first visit.
And if you are lucky enough to visit during the rare occasions that the creeks are running, take the Store Creek track to the end, and then push on a little further for a spectacular cascading water fall.
Warning : Cocoparra is stinking hot in summer and bitterly cold in winter. Water is usually scarce so dress and pack accordingly.

We had some time spare during our visit and we drive to the park and up to the Radio towers and a look out over the area around the Hill.
Great Spot to explore.

Short visit to Jack's Creek
Oct 2018 • Couples
We over-nighted in Griffith and then drove out to Cocoparra National Park for a bit of walking and bird watching... hoping to see a Painted Honeyeater.
Alas, no PH but a good walk through fabulous scenery and along an easy, well formed track.

Drive up to Mt Bingar
Jun 2018 • Couples
Well worth the steep drive up to Mt Bingar.
Makes for a great lookout and bushwalk
Plenty of wildlife on the way to and from the site.
Was lucky to see 2 emus, wallaby, and dead wild pig (looked to be baited)
The views are well worth the trip 👍👍

Loved it
May 2018 • Couples
Went there with another couple friends of ours, did the waterfall walk which was a little disappointing as it said it was supposed to be about a kilometre long and we found it to be much shorter. The walk from Jacks Picnic Ground was fantastic great views, the only thing was that everything is not that well posted until you're almost upon the walks, maybe some better signage would help. Highly reccomend
