Pricey, dirty but kids had fun and no one got sick.
I would give this higher ratings if all the slides had been open at any time. They seem to only open a couple at a time and my boys were disappointed at the wait time and lack of options. The setting is right next to the river with a nice view, especially if you float the lazy river. We bought our tickets on line which saved a bunch for us, BUT no one knew how to access them unless you stood on the line with everyone who needed tickets for a half hour to have someone look up the tickets and print them for you. It was very crowded. Chairs they provide are mostly old and sketchy unless you claim a couple very early in the day. Tubes can be hard to find too. Washrooms by lunchtime were disgusting - as were the changing rooms. I will say that the families seemed to care about their kids, I didn't see bullying or mean kids, and everyone seemed to be having fun. The crowd was every ethnicity and everyone was polite to each other. I would have preferred some more modest bathing suits, but hey - to each their own. Bring your own food - no one can afford to eat here after paying for admission and parking. Also, lockers are extra ordinarily high priced. Parking is not close so plan to always leave someone with your stuff. It was about $180 for two kids and two adults and that was after buying an online promotion. Still a nice present for a kid's birthday. He loved it.

    Parking Charge
Beautiful park with nice upgrades, including landscaping (kids do nice job keeping it clean) and new signs. Fun rides. But I must complain about one thing-- charging $20/$25 for parking?! Really???

    Fun water park
A really great water park. Especially on a hot sunny day. We spent over 6 hours and the day flew by. The Mon tsunami wave park and lazy river are favorites. Their is a shortage of lawn chairs. To get one get there early . besides the shortage of lawn chairs and long lines. it's a great experience for a hot day.

After reading reviews we almost didn’t go. Very well staffed with grounds keepers doing an excellent job and lifeguards and ride staff working hard. That part was very impressive. The day we went is not too hot, maybe 75 and partly cloudy. Yet there were still parts that were burning hot to walk on. Using the ramps and grass was better than using the dark slatted paths. They allowed small coolers and drink to be brought in. The crowd of people that day were mainly family friendly. Security was patrolling. Plenty of chairs. Picking a slow day seems important. A nice band was there in the afternoon.

We went back to Sandcastle a couple of weeks ago after not going for nearly 5 years. We were not really impressed and I doubt we will be going back. A few reasons.
1. Parking is $10. You can park in the Costco lot for nothing and walk a 1/4 mile to the gate.
2. On top of parking, the cost for a locker rental starts at $15 for a small locker. You can save the money and stay by your stuff all day so no one takes it or as we did, put your stuff in zip lock back and keep it in your pocket.
3. The park opened at 11 and most of the slides did not open till noon.
4. We spent most of the time in the lazy river floating by the goose droppings all around the concrete walkway around the river. Not a very appealing sight. At least take some time in the morning to clean the place.
5. The food options are actually decent, but the seating leaves much to be desired. Most people take their food trays back to their seats. Needless to say, most do not take their tray or trash back.

The waterpark is OK for a family with kids who are old enough to go and do their own thing while the parents can sit and relax. The park is not cheap but seeing how they are part of Kennywood and their new ownership, pricing has gotten out of hand. If you are local and have an annual pass, it will pay for itself over a couple of visits. If not, go to a local state park with a beach and enjoy the day at a much lower cost or for free.

The visit started pretty pleasant as it was very hot an humid out and this was a very good relief, well soo we thought, as my wife was swimming at the wave pool a lifeguard who “saw someone in need of help” jumped right on her. Putting her in more danger than anyone else in the pool. A few minutes later the same life guard did it to another person in the same exact way. If this is the way sandcastle express concern by putting other guests in harms away they really shouldn’t be in business. It’s very unfortunate we had to leave early due to my wife’s head throbbing and her not feeling well. Hopefully it goes away without a hospital visit courtesy of sandcastle

I bought the family 4 pack and a parking pass for my daughter and her friends on 7/10/20 to go on 7/11/20. They got there a little after 11. At 1:45 I got a text saying that they were being told they had to leave as the park was closing at 2pm. The park was supposed to be open until 6pm. I would have never paid over $130 for 2.5 hours of ANYTHING! I will never pay for
It again if they just decide to shut down whenever they want for no reason. Apparently after reading reviews this is common and they offer no refunds, discounts, pretty much laugh at all the suckers that they just ripped off. The park is outdated, needs cleaned and needs someone to keep the bathrooms at least sanitary. I work hard for my money and I don’t like when it’s wasted and I feel like sandcastle makes their money by ripping people off.

Hi Sue, We apologize that you had a poor experience during your visit. Typically when it rains that early on in the day, we issue our guests rainchecks at Guest Relations so that they can come back and visit us another day. Please send us an email at Sandcastlepr@PalaceEntertainment.com and we would be happy to send you a couple rain check tickets to visit us again. Thank you, Sandcastle Management Team

They never did this ever limit the amount of one time on lazy river . You could go several times now it’s one time only. They block you off by standing . Instead they say no staff and close cliff hangers. This is a waste of a salary to block people . Instead open cliff hangers with these people .

Thrill rides: fun. Lazy river: so lazy it takes 25 minutes to go around. Food: fried. Completely. Lockers: good, centrally located, but one did not work (after we had paid for it). We were there on a Wednesday in mid-July and it was not crowded at all. Almost no lines for anything. Shady places were abundant and being next to the river was nice. We had intended to buy a cabana but didn’t need one.

I loved my visit to Sandcastle Water Park. I love how you can see the river from the top of all the water slides, and how you float alongside it on the lazy river. My kids liked all of the slides, and it was always easy to find them because the layout of the park is one long rectangle. We are looking forward to coming back next year.
