We enjoy finding local lighthouses wherever we travel near water. We found the Erie Land Light by GPS, but it is a bit off the normal travel path. It isn't normally open to the public, I think only on special events, but we were pleasantly...More

Had to make a quick stop on recent visit to show my niece. I don't know if it is ever open to visitors, and now there is a playgroud next to it. But I was excited to see it.

Great to be able to get up close to the lighthouse. Had a couple informative signs. Wish we could have gone inside. The tower is in great shape. A nice quick stop

This lighthouse may be of special interest to me as my grandmother's family lived in the caretaker's house in the early 1900s. While the lighthouse is open only for special events, it played a vital role in Erie's history as a shipping port. It's worth...More

Happened to be "collecting" lighthouses on one of the four days this summer (2017) that the Lighthouse was open for tours. So glad as the trip up the steps to the top, the view and the nice historic explanation by one of the volunteers was...More

The lighthouse has been restored beautifully. We were not sure if the home next to the lighthouse was part of the park or not. It could use some better signage to clarify. We walked around the lighthouse and read the plaque. It was not open...More

We stopped by while visiting Erie and were very pleased with our stop. This is the oldest tower on the US side of the great lakes, so that is a neat distinction to start with. To see it intact is a treat. You can also...More

If one is lucky enough to be able to actually go up the steps to reach the top. I visited during a time when free visits were given. Looks out over Lake Erie. What a time to reflect in yesteryears.

Glad they refurbised it. Looks great. It is open to tours on some days. Good view of lake Erie. I do have to say it is in a 'run down' area of town' but worth the trip.

Free to see. Has a park with a playground next to it. Kind of a strange location. Kept up well. Not sure if you can go inside, but we weren't able to. Very calm atmosphere. You can see Presque Isle from there. Worth a quick...More
