Sitting with Misery Bay on one side and presque isle Bay on the other, the Perry Monument sits as a reminder if the Battle of Lake Erie. The grounds were used by the U.S. Navy as a field hospital during those bloody confrontations in 1813....More

While there are some interesting facts about the war of 1812 in the signs around it, there wasn't much to this area. It's on a cute little inlet, but it was kinda ugly in the snowless leafless January weather.

At the very tip of the Park. If you're driving the loop on Presque Isle State Park, this is as convenient a place as any to get out and stretch your legs while at the same time enjoying a little bit of history.

This monument commemorates the victory of Commodore Perry over the British in the Battle of Lake Erie in the War of 1812. Its column reminds us of the struggles the American forces had in defending the U.S. from the British.

A very uninteresting looking monument for a man who ensured victory over the British during the War of 1812. It stands in a lovely place on Presque Isle. Looks like it should have water around base but was empty. Still nice tribute.

How do you rate a monument? It is an impressive tribute to Admiral Perry. The grounds are beautiful with shade trees, picnic tables, and benches. There are nice views of downtown Erie across the bay. During the summer season you can board the Lady Kate...More

A drained fountain around it, plaques with interesting information, and a nice view around it. There is not much to it.
