It's beautiful at night...

... with its facade all lit up. Stands out like a regal giant ruling over the city. Probably just as magnificent on the inside. Another beautiful structure I have to admire from only the outside in the COVID era. Just stood for a few minutes out front gazing at her. Snapped a couple shots, and got in my car and started off on my two-hour ride back to Pittsburgh. This was my last stop in Erie. Not sure if I'll ever get back to this city. Not sure I want to and not sure why that is.

Under construction
Sep 2020 • Family
Went to see cathedral but it's under major construction. Scaffolding fills the sanctuary, so we were unable to get in. Would've loved to really see it.

Lovely stained glass

Worth the trip to see a fine cathedral, to sit and pray, and to see the deep colors of the windows. Very nice Pieta life size sculpture. Wish we could have heard the organ. Interesting baptismal font with higher part flowing into larger part.

Beautiful Church
Aug 2019
St. Peter's Cathedral is an amazing place to go to church, to get married in and to just look at the beauty of the structure of the church. Many masses are held throughout the week and weekends.

Beautiful Church!
Jun 2019
Was just walking around town to explore the city and this is a beautiful church from 1893. I love the Gothic Revival architecture as it reminds of churches in Europe and the ceilings just soar all throughout. I’m not religious but I really enjoyed the atmosphere and vibe of this sanctuary and even got to hear the organ being tested out for a bit which sounded amazing. Definitely worthy a quick walkthrough! :)

An architectural gem

Not a fan of this religion, but this is an architectural marvel. A great place for photography. Limited parking.

Takes your breath away with the beauty of the cathedral

What a beautiful cathedral. When we visited, the priest was there getting ready for an afternoon wedding. One could tell how proud he was of this church.

Beautiful place for a short visit.

Magnificent place of Catholic tradition. The wall behind the alter was covered as if it was being painted or repaired. Windows, statues, etc are well worth a 30 minute stop. Check the Mass schedule so you either attend mass or visit outside these times. Plenty of parking spaces.
