The best rustic camping ground I have ever stayed at. Very quiet (except for the campers that do not understand camping etiquette of not loudly closing their car doors EVERY SINGLE TIME they take something out of their car) through the night. Toilets (non-flush) buildings...More

My boyfriend and I visited over Labor Day weekend. We were concerned that the weather wouldn't cooperate, but it eventually did and it was worth the wait. Although we arrived near the end of the guided activities, we were able to look through telescopes at...More

Camping in Cherry Springs is the best place to be for watching the night sky. We happened to be there on a crystal clear moonless night in September and what a site. Most people are aware of others checking out the sky, so use minimal...More

This place is wonderful. You need to do campsite booking much in advance. Its quite primitive - you get a fire ring, a rustic picnic table and a good amount of area. The astronomy field is just across the campsite. Its pitch dark! Toilets are...More

This was my third year going to Cherry Spring State Park and every year I bring a different friend or family member. We were so fortunate to be there when a young man set up his telescope showing us Jupiter, Saturn, and Venus. You could...More

Wonderful set up for anyone wanting to see our celestial neighborhood. Telescopes, binoculars, naked eye - the dark sky there is amazing.

Reserve America may have spots open for Cherry Springs, you probably want the airport campground, the astronomy field is for hard core observers.
