Know Your City engages the public in art and social justice through creative placemaking projects. Our programs and publications aim to educate people to better know their communities, and to empower them to take action. Know Your City offers private, group tours to organizations, schools and companies, large and small. We offer the following tours for private groups with a minimum 8 attendees. A People’s History of Portland Presenting history from the bottom up, this tour celebrates Portland’s working class heroes – from Chinatown immigrants to skid row loggers to today's social activists. Sing a Song of Portland Sing your way through nearly 100 years of Portland music history, from the early days of rock n’ roll to today’s indie rock scene. Don’t worry – we’ll teach you the words! Seedy Portland Visit sites of famous saloons, bordellos, opium dens and card rooms, some of which are still in operation today. The tour ends outside of Mary’s Club, one of Portland’s most venerated strip clubs. Hidden Portland What if the City was a Museum? Hidden Portland: City Treasures! attempts to answer this question by allowing tour goers to discover and appreciate the often unnoticed parts of the city. Jade District Tour Learn about local efforts for social justice and creating greater opportunity for minority businesses owners as we visit restaurants, businesses and community leaders in Portland’s up-and-coming Jade District – home to many of East Portland’s Asian immigrants.

TrvlTheWorld2 thanks for the note. We are very sorry you missed the very large sign at our meeting location that said the tour was cancelled today. Our guide could not make the tour today. Hopefully you can join us another time on the tour. Cheers.
