After seeing the views from ‘God’s Thumb’ we knew we had to take a ride and check out this trail. Reviews listed it as moderate however, the climb to the head/God’s Thumb I’d say is closer to difficult. It’s pretty steep on the way up,...More

I have hiked into Hart's Cove two times now. It is one of the most beautiful coves on the Oregon Coast. It is a perfect horseshoe shaped cove with Chitwood Creek cascading straight down into the ocean. You really wish you could have the power...More

The payoff is worth the trip up the mountain. You'll be winding through forests until breaking out to a phenomenal south view about half way up. A little bit further and the view improves, if that's even possible. Some of the trail can be a...More

A friend brought us to see this wonderful part of the world. The trail is lovely ( would be good to run it) We saw lots of local native vegetation and birds. We also saw some elk in the distance. Well done Nature Conservancy for...More

This trail is a very pretty path that takes hikers up about 500 feet in about 2 miles (one-way) through a beautiful forested area. Highlights of the hike up include bridges over small ravines and, for spurts, plants that form a canopy over your head....More

I enjoy this trail with my husband, two kids: 6 and 8 yr old and my mom. We took the area that they open on July to protect the butterfly. It was a nice and peaceful walk. We sat on the floor to enjoy the...More

First, the caveats. This is not the place for kids (or adults) who want to turn around after a mile or two nor is it a trail to bring a dog. If you only hike in sneakers, this is not the trail for you either...More

Trail is very, very muddy. Not well maintained. Inadequately marked so people wander off into private areas. Dogs were off leash - even though there are signs saying "NO DOGS". This is a perfect example of a "wilderness area" that is NOT wilderness anymore. It's...More

Wonderful moderate hike up through the Pacific Coast rain forest culminating with beautiful ocean vistas. Totally worth the continuous incline. Be aware that dogs are not permitted 😕.

Great hike today. Try to wear hiking boots because it is muddy, bring walking poles if you are into using those! Great view from the fields at the top of the climb. Beautiful panoramic view of the Pacific coast from the top. Like I said,...More

I agree w/Mike. You can sprint just to do it or take in all the hike has to offer. Enjoy and be safe!
