You can spend 5 minutes to 30 minutes watching people pull in their crab buckets. Low tide is best just because there are more crabs to see.

Walking along the Newport Bay Street Pier offers you a chance to get up-close and personal with the seals playing on the piers & in the water. The street also has a lot of restaurants and gift shops. I found a few lovely gifts at...More

Used to be more fun and more interesting. Now it seems so run down and fewer places to visit. We didn't stay long.

This is a really fun area for the family. Tons of seals to amuse the public. You won't believe the great "orchestrated performance". And these cute creatures work for free. HA!

Great area for a stroll. Many photo ops to take advantage of. You can watch the fishermen load/unload boats and head out.

The pier is really nice, with views of the Yaquina bridge and watching fishermen. It is an easy walk, with a nice park area under the bridge.

This place has a great view. You can people watch and watch the boats come in and go out. You do not want too be caught dead here on a windy day. There is plenty of parking but plenty of tourists.

We walked along and watched the sunset through the nearby bridge. It was beautiful. We also watched the locals catch crabs in cages. That was a bit depressing, but interesting.

I went crabbing on the pier in the morning. It was beautiful. I like to take nature pictures and there were great views of the bridge with morning light and calm over the water. We saw seagulls as well as one or two seals as...More

The sun was just coming up and the shops weren't open yet so we walked the pier to see the Sea lions. Extensive work has been done to accommodate the animals. Fun to watch and listen!
