We stop of just to eat our picnic but spent hours watching the whales and seals. Lovely picnic tables with a view of the ocean. Small beach shop. Restrooms with changing area. Access to beach and the surf. Good spot with children and dogs.

How did I not know that you can walk into the punchbowl? I'm a born and bred Native Oregonian and have spent my whole life visiting the coast. Go into Otter Crest, walk down to the beach and take trip into the bowl. I'll admit,...More

Awesome display of one the world's natural creations. Took a road trip up the coast. Had great weather and stopped to take in the views.

Very cool place - a rock formation in the shape of a bowl with an arch opening on the sea side. I hear it looks much different when the tide is high with the waves crashing against the shore an how the Punch Bowl fills...More

What a great place to witness the difference between tides! Went at low tide and back for high tide! Simply breath taking! Truly incredible for someone from north central america!

Maybe we were there at the wrong time of day or the seas were just too calm, but the devil's punch was a little flat. We'd also been told it was a good area for birding but we didn't see much in the way of...More

Would be quite the sight if the ocean is really violent, but not this day. But great little picnic area and a good restaurant (Mo's) and a wine tasting room. Worth the stop

Nice parking lot with restrooms. Short walk to the overlook with an up close view of devils punchbowl. There were whales just offshore. Seems to be a popular surf spot as well. Beach access too. Over as great stop!

While in Newport, I stopped by to see what the hype was all about. Being on vacay mode, of course is didn’t wake up early enough to arrive during low tide. By the time I arrived, the water was already slowly coming in making it...More

There were lots of dogs there so I’m going to go with yes on that. Friendly tip - get the app for tide charts or get a tide chart from a ranger station. You can walk into the Punchbowl at low tide and then view it from above... More

Make sure you put it in your GPS as Devil's Punchbowl State Natural Area. Watch for the sign. It looks like a regular side street but keep going. It is at the end of the street. You will pass the picnic area, restrooms... More
