The Mary D. has got a well-documented history, and it's great to imagine her sailing the sea in her time. She is nearly gone now, most of her hull is below the water line, but it is good to visit her in a nod to...More

Her history is well-documented, but she is now nearly gone ... fading away since we first saw her in the early 2000's.

This wreck has been around for a long time. It is interesting to see but is starting to disappear from time and decay. Worth stopping to look at though. :-)

Mary D. Hume was a steamer built by R.D. Hume, a pioneer and early businessman, for his Cannery in Gold Beach.It's a historic whale vessel, turned to an ocean tugboat, then a towboat . She worked until 1978, where she was left in this harbor....More
