A nice hike through a wild life preserve. No pets allowed. The terrain can be a little challenging for those with minor handicaps, so know your limitations. There are a lot of steps going down and it feels like double the number going back up....More

A lot of the best views were covered by overgrown brush. It was a moderately challenging hike. My Fitbit said 48 flights of stairs but we had also been at old mans cave earlier in the day. If you’ve ever been to any trail in...More

The rim is 200 feet above the gorge, and it's pretty thrilling to walk on the sometimes challenging path so close to the edge. I wouldn't take children around the rim, as there are also unexpected openings in the path next to the edge. There...More

Loved this unique experience! The trail leads you past some sights that look fantastic in nature (Jurassic Park, anyone?). Most of the path is easy to walk or even take a stroller/wheelchair down, making it a great option for families visiting the area. While the...More

We didn’t have this place high on our list, but we really enjoyed it. The gorge trail is a fairly easy paved 1/2 mile trail, then a tougher rock and root filled, up and down path takes you all the way under the falls. With...More

Got a bit lost so finally arrived at this preserve tucked away. Not the only ones looking for picnic spot and short hike. Decided I wasn’t ready for the 2.5 mile rim hike that came “dangerously” close to the edge. Easy walk on concrete than...More

This easy walk along the paved trail turned into an excellent surprise ending! The views from the paved trail are very nice and they are doing a noble job to preserve and improve the area. The best part is the short bonus walk off the...More

If you have a few hours to spare, do yourself a favor and start on the rim trail, followed by the Gorge. If you don’t have much time, I’d highly recommend doing the Gorge. Don’t let the paved trail fool you like it did us,...More

Yes, and the area is beautiful. You can't get all the way back to the falls, but there are little outcrops along the way and beautiful wildflowers if you are into those.

Cockle's Hollow is very flat through the first 9/10 of the trail, then gets a bit rocky at the very end.
