The Gorge Overlook Trail is one of many named trails accessible from the Old Man's Cave parking lot in Ohio's Hocking Hills State Park. As its name would imply, this trail does not dip down into the gorge. It has no stairs, but is uneven...More

This trip happened to follow a day of torrential rains for the area. The 4 main waterfalls were bounding, and it was Spring break for local students.....I enjoyed seeing the tons of families hiking together. Children were learning the importance of staying on the trail,...More

You can go straight to Old Mans Cave in a pretty short distance, but if you're physically up for it, you should do some of these other trails that connect to Upper Falls & Lower Falls.

We used this trail to travel between Old Man's Cave and Cedar Falls. Though it is a longer hike between the two, it's definitely the more comfortable to navigate option. There are plenty of places to sit along the way. Most of the path is...More

The best time to see the waterfalls are when the water is flowing. July is very humid but the scenery is so much better. Because of the canopy we were protected from the rain.

This well groomed and maintained trail with beautiful views is a hike of moderate difficulty. Early morning is cool, unhurried and less travelled. Bring water, TP and walking sticks if uneven terrain is challenging. Not handicap accessible.
