Not for the faint hearted.

The walk in the beginning is nice but gets very tricky towards the end with narrow path, steep drops and slippery rocks. It is disappointing that there is no signage as to how far / how long it takes or the level of difficulty. It is not suitable for young children or people with unsure balance. The falls themselves are nice when there is a decent flow. It should also be noted that as difficult as it is to get there, the trek back is mostly up hill requiring a certain level of fitness. It took us one and a half hours return walking briskly. I was very happy to get back to the car!

Pretty cool

A tiny sign situated on the side of the road you have to keep your eyes open otherwise you might drive past it as our Navman didn't pick it up. We drove up the track and parked on the side of it . There is actually no parking spots or time limits on how long it takes . We found it easier just to walk straight from there.
The start of the walk is pretty easy and is labelled by reflectors - red on the way in and yellow on the way out . The intensity of the walk at the end in the last 10 minutes got a bit rough as we had two young kids . We had to hold hands otherwise it could be a little bit dangerous so would recommend to take children over the age of 7 , as our youngest was 5 . When you come to the end of the waterfall it had a big water hole . It looks like you can swim underneath the waterfall and swim around it would be so cool in summer with a whole heap of friends . Also a good view of the mountains in front and was a nice clear day would recommend to give it a go.

lobsters long gone

just a little sign on side of road where there is a pull-off for a few cars to park....walking track is wide to start off with but goes to single track, and at times tricky going. not for the disabled. wasn't much water when I went, so was a bit disappointing, but then the falls aren't that big. couldn't see an easy way to get down to the water as is rocky and steep in places. was worth the effort but wouldn't go again.

Short walk, with difficulties.
Apr 2017 • Solo
I enjoyed this walk, a solo activity by a 26yo female. According to my S health app it took 1 hour 1 minute of walking activity return (not including time spent at falls) The track is relatively easy for the majority but becomes more difficult in the last 10 minutes ( I slipped four times - this is considered above average for me) I took the first track down to the upper falls, and would advise against this unless you are confident with your footing as it doesn't come out to a "ledge" as such but a sloped rock where footing is difficult. But further along the track is the main falls, which can be viewed safely. I would say these falls are suitable for children over 7 or so as I also passed a family with small children and I felt bad for them given how difficult the track does become. A nice swimming spot in warmer months, but be careful of others enjoying the sun as I also saw a snake while on the path.

Hard slog to get there but worth it.

The sign (small, nondescript) on the side of the road gives no indication of the time needed for the walk, nor does it give any indication of the intensity level. I found it a bit hard going but I am middle aged with zero fitness. The track itself is a bit rugged for a significant length as you get closer to the falls. The track down to the first tier is pretty well a rock wall climb where we had to use vines & tree branches for support and to lever ourselves up on the way back. The falls themselves are absolutely gorgeous with a good swimming hole at each of them. Will definitely do this again when we have visitors from the mainland.

Good swimming spot and can jump
Jan 2017 • Friends
It's about a 30 min walk each way to the falls, the track gets pretty dangerous at the end and is very sketchy. Pretty awesome waterfall. You can jump off the side of the waterfall as it is deep and can also sit underneath the waterfall. If you walk 30m down from the first waterfall, you'll find a second one with an even bigger swimming spot. If you are game, you can climb up the side of the cliff face and jump in, as it is very deep. The climb is extremely dangerous though, but a lot of fun.

Didn't realise the walk was so long or hard, so only wearing thongs. Quite narrow & slippery in places, & no directions, but the falls themselves are stunning

No where to park.
Mar 2016 • Couples
We had heard the waterfalls were lovely and worth a visit. What we didn't know as we drove along the narrow country road looking for them is that there is no dedicated parking area, no where to pull off the road and with other cars travelling quickly on the road behind us no way of slowing down on the approach or after we spotted the sign to the start of the walk. I can't say what the walk or the falls were like as we never got there. It was 5 kms further along the road before we found somewhere to turn around and by then we had decided it was too hard and too dangerous to park our campervan on the side of the busy little road near the start of the walk. Maybe next time.

Challenging walk to a peaceful waterfall
Feb 2016 • Couples
The walk starts from road B 12 east of Chudleigh and is marked by a small sign on the road. At first the path is well made and passes through forest. Then, the trail becomes less clearly marked and towards the end is very rough with some scrambling over rocks required. However, the effort is well worth while as the trail leads to a water fall and waterfall. This walk is secluded and peaceful. You are unlikely to meet any other people on the trail. Strong walking shoes are required. Take water.
