An enjoyable 3.5km journey and return in fully restored engine and carriages, with steam trains running at weekends. Workshops are full of other restorations, including a royal carriage, and other works in progress by dedicated volunteers. Thomas the Tank Engine is there for the children....More

A terrific Museum with friendly Staff ....so much to read see and all questions about the history answered....and end your visit with an old steam railway experience...!

Great place to visit for old and young. Take the train ride to Devonport it is worth it. The staff and volunteers are knowledgable , helpful and very freindly. Makes a cheap day out. The kids love it.

Took the kids to ride on the steam train. Had a ball - nice ride withgriendly volunteers then an informative guided tour around the engines and workshops. Thoroughly enjoyed by all.

From start to finish all the staff were very professional and friendly, Their passion and ethusiasm for the railway was infectious. Nothing seemed too much effort. Had a fantastic time. Will definately be back

Unfortunately the day we visited, there was no train driver, so could not go for a ride. Wandered around looking at the beautifully restored trains, disappointed not to see any history about them. Loved the well restored old carriages inside the workshops. Amazing work by...More

This is a great place to see older railroad equipment and ride a classic train. Volunteers maintain a fleet of old engines and cars. You can even tour the large barn and see classic equipment. You also can see how equipment is maintained.
