Overview
More
This fascinating National Trust property was home to Prime Minister Joseph Lyons and Dame Enid Lyons together with their 12 children. Built by them in 1916 Home Hill was the heart of the family's life and contains a rich collection of personal material. A guided tour of the property provides an unexpected insight into Australian political life during the momentous events of the mid twentieth century. Public access is by guided tour only at 2pm, Wed to Sun. Also available for group or private bookings/afternoon teas etc. Closed during July and August.

This lovely old home is open for a guided tour at 2pm on most days.....you need to check first though. It was a wonderful tour and the house was easy to find with excellent road signage. Plenty of parking.

This is the home of Joe Lyons, Tasmania’s only Australian Prime Minister. The home has been left, as it was, after the death of his wife. The house is run by volunteers & is heritage listed.

A lovely property with all original pieces of property belonging to the Lyons. The guide was very knowledgeable and provided us with very interesting Tasmanian and Australian history. Well worth a visit.

Fantastic place to tour for an appreciation of some early history and what life was like. The volunteers are very helpful in answering questions.

I have been here multiple times and its an honour to walk in the former home of Tasmania's only Prime minister. The last time i was here was on a night photography workshop and the staff were friendly and gave us a tour.
