This was a brilliant day organised by my partner as a Birthday present. The guys at Llynclys are among the most devoted heritage railway enthusiasts I have ever met and if the line is ultimately able to join Oswestry visitor numbers will surely increase massively....More

It seems that during the summer trains are running most weekends with some of them being steam. The ticket allows you to ride the train as many times as you want with the trains running every 30 minutes from 1100 until 1530. They also have...More

The station building is such beautiful building, so much pride was obviously taken back when these places were built. It was hosting a small world war 11 exhibition when we visited. The little museum in the goods yard, full of interesting facts and artefacts of...More

Set in a small shed alongside the old railway, this was a small but densely packed little museum with a lot of information and many artefacts relating to the Cambrian Railway and to railway history in general. Though at times it looked a little shabby...More

Even if you're not a railway buff, and I don't think I am, then this is still an interesting place. The museum is a higgled piggled hot potch of memorabilia laid out in no particular pattern, that I could see, but it worked.

Lovely station staffed by passionate and friendly volunteers, the enthusiasm they have for the railway shines through. Great cafe which is well worth a visit too.

I purchased a "Joint" family ticket so that we could ride on the trains at both Oswestry & Llynclys. My 3 grandsons(8,5,&2) thoroughly enjoyed their train rides from Oswestry to Gasworks Bridge. The fascination for the stream engine was evident & so were the smuts!...More

It's in walking distance of the centre of Oswestry so does not take long to get there, if you are visiting Oswestry anyway. Takes about 15-30minutes to look round. The building seems to be dominated by a large Pharmacy, so if you need any pharmaceuticals...More
