Chillingham castle is stuffed to the brim with the most eclectic mixture of objects. From the 2000 year old pigs skull to a room full of boots there is truly something for everyone. The joy is that the contents are not roped off or placed...More

Great place to visit, lots of interesting articles and so atmospheric. Quiet and easy to walk about, tea room was different and service was good.

I great castle to visit, full of the owners collections of period items. Helpful guide happy to give further information. Lovely formal gardens. Nice tearoom in the castle too.

Really stunning castle which has bundles of character and history. Personally I much prefer this castle to Alnwick or Bamburgh castle. Beautiful extensive grounds, gardens and lakes. Tea room good value but limited choice. The place was falling down when Sir Wakefield bought it and...More

Second visit here and still the richest and eclectic castle visit i have ever done. If you like your castles all modernised, clean and orderly then you are not going to "get this" place. The room notes by Sir Humphrey add a personal touch. The...More

Well I've seen a few dismissive reviews of the castle and think they're extremely unfair. We loved the castle and the fact it's full of the owner's family collectibles. The booklet written by the owner is a nice touch with personal anecdotes. I loved the...More

I wouldn't recommend a visit personally. Much of the castle was up and down steps and think it would be a nightmare personally. A shame as was a brilliant castle. Not sure about the disabled toilet, sorry.
