I have not rowed on the canal at Hythe for 14 or so years so this year I decided to have a go at rowing again. I have visited with friends twice this year and both visits were brilliant. The staff at the boat house were very helpful and friendly, the cost of the hire was good and the boats were a pleasure to row. Its great to see that these people are keeping a tradition alive that has existed for over 100 years on the canal. Thank you very much will be paying another visit in the near future.…

On a lovely sunny afternoon last week, we took the boat trip along Hythe Canal. Absolutely lovely. I haven't been on the canal about 30 years and hadn't known about this trip. Highly recommended. Beautiful.

We booked a trip on the Electric Boat. Had a really nice trip along the Canal. The Captain was very knowledgable with the history of the canal and the wildlife that lives on the banks. Would recommend if you are in Hythe and have a hour or so to spare. Couple it with a ride on the RHDR and make a day of it. …

The two of us had the boat to ourselves, with the female 'Skipper', and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Cruising the canal in an almost silent (electric) boat was a wonderfully relaxing experience. Would love to do this trip again. Highly recommended.

We booked a trip on the boat last week, in the afternoon. A nice sunny day. A really tranquil experience with the owner steering the boat and chatting about the history of the canal, and also his interesting life. If you go do not expect to see too much; possibly some ducks and swans, some water lilies and some people fishing. But it was an interesting and unusual experience.…
