About
Beerenberg Farm is a "must visit" for all food lovers visiting the Adelaide Hills. One of Australia's oldest family-owned jam, condiment and sauce producers, it is now run by the sixth generation of the Paech family on their Hahndorf farm. Open all year round, 7 days a week (except Christmas Day), the farm shop is open 9am to 5pm. Enjoy a leisurely browse through the complete collection of farm-made products in the delightful farm shop. During strawberry season (November to April), bring the family and pick your own strawberries from 9am to last field entry at 4.15pm. Patch entry is $5.00 per adult (13 years and under are free). Strawberries you pick are then weighed and are $10.95/kg.

    Site seeing Hahndorf
Was on our way to Hahndorf Village when we spotted Beerenberg Farm. We decided to drive on and pop back to the farm and have lunch. Hahndorf Village is not far from Mt Barker which is an easy drive. After doing our shopping and walk around the Village we dropped into Beerenberg and had lunch and a spot of stocking up jam etc.

    Stop by for a pie!
Stopped here on our way to Adelaide for morning tea. Great little shop and the cafe was a great experience. We were not disappointed. They use the cafe to showcase the products sold. Pricey but tasty. Shame there wasn’t a tour as it would have been good to see behind the scenes. I will be putting an order in for more tartare sauce soon.

Morning coffee and cake - lovely!
Needing to head to Tailem Bend for a my mustang self drive at the Bend, so we stopped off at Beerenberg as the usual parking problems in Hahndorf precluded us stopping there for a mid morning bite to eat. First time in years that I have been there and its been upgraded and done very well. Beerenberg was busy with plenty of tourists, but it handles the crowds well. No problems in getting a table and ordering coffees and scones. Yum. And then a stroll through to pick up a range of their jams. Great place for a quick feed or to while away time while people watching.

    Scones to Die For
What a stunning place. Family run since the ~1830s apparently. Thiss location has a really good cafe with scones, jams and cream to savour. The scones came with five different jams which made guessing which was which (or what) entertaining. Everything was first class and the place sells an impossibly wide range of relishes, chutneys and jams. The coffe wasn't bad either. Thoroughly recommend a visit for anyone near the Adelaide Hills! Yes, we did come away with some jars!

    A bucket list item ticked!
It’s been decades since I first knew and loved Beerenberg products and it’s long been on my bucket list to visit the farm. At last! A road trip took us through Hahndorf and we stopped in for morning tea and a very thorough perusal of the shop ;-) Hubby chose a double scoop of the delicious dairy icecream for his treat and I had the Queen Scone – a beautiful, and very generously sized, heart shaped scone that was light and fluffy, with four different Beerenberg jams. I guessed them to be strawberry, raspberry, blueberry and apricot. A generous swirl of cream and a pretty dusting of pink icing sugar completed the treat. The coffee was good and the service was nice, though the prices in the cafe are a bit steep. The shop was amazing – I was in seventh heaven! I may have left with quite a collection of goodies and can’t wait to get the chance to visit again one day.

    A Taste of Beerenberg
The 4 of us booked and attended A Taste of Beerenberg session. These sessions can be booked several time a week and run for 45 minutes [nominally] . They are a tasting of a savoury platter with a drink [including wine] followed by a very tasty scone with your choice of jam, and cream. The tasting is hosted by an employee although she was only in the room part of the time. I found it all a little bit pedestrian to be honest, but the other 3 really enjoyed it. There were another couple booked into the same session as ours and they were seated at a seperate table. The goodie bag that everyone was given at the end of the session contained a number of Beerenberg products and that much appreciated. The 30 per person cost was a little high I think, even with the goodie bag.

    Breakfast for three
Visited this morning for breakfast and to buy a few goodies for Christmas. All three of us ordered something different for breakfast and we all said how lovely the food was. I can recommend the toasted sandwich with field mushrooms, cheese and spinach with pesto and a blue cheese dressing. Gorgeous

Great place to spend a couple of hours
Easy to find, plenty of parking. Our party of adults spent about 2.5hrs. Strawberry picking: The day we went was just right, bright but not too sunny or hot. The strawberries were nice and ripe, with plenty available. Cafe: The rest of the group ordered drinks and piece of cake, those with a sweet tooth enjoyed their order. I opted to try their ice cream instead, the Beerenberg orange blossom honey ice cream was tasty as was their strawberry sorbet (dairy free). Restrooms were clean, although there was a long queue (to be expected as it was quite busy). Shop: Before leaving, we bought a lot of mini jams and gift sets for souvenirs. A nice range of preserves and condiments, plenty of stock. Staff were lovely and helpful, and provided cardboard boxes for our purchases.

    Strawberries!
It was raining in Adelaide. So unfortunately we were not able to go strawberry picking. The shop had a variety of different jams and condiments. The strawberry waffles from the cafe were so good. I highly recommended a trip here.

We come here every Dec to pick strawberries. While the cafe/ shop renovation looks good, there is semblance of F&B management. You have to queue to get a table, queue for 20 mins to order a coffee, wait another 20 mins for a coffee where 1/4 is slopped on the saucer and thrown at you, and after 30 mins served a scone with no cutlery. Just go for the strawberry picking and condiments…

Such a bad online shopping experience. Ordered on 27 November for corporate gifts and order still hadn’t left the farm by 11 December. Called again on 13 December and cancelled the order as nothing had been done. So unreliable. Not acceptable particularly for interstate gifts

Visited on a quiet afternoon (16 November 2023) specifically to buy some local products to gift for Christmas. Parking was plentiful and access easy.

Beautifully displayed and presented products in a spacious venue. The roses flowering in the garden provided a delightful perfume.

I purchased coffee and scones in the Cafe and the coffee was quite nice. Unfortunately, the overly sweet scones were inedible, spoiling the chance to taste the assortment of fruit jams. Although their website claims to use the described "grandmother’s recipe" for their scones, this wasn't the case that day. The dough had an extraordinarily excessive amount of sugar plus they were dusted with sugar and they fell apart into crumbs, rendering them unsuitable in every way to sample or spread the jams and cream. It's hard to imagine how this happened and as the Cafe occupies a large portion of the venue, I can't recommend it.

Beerenberg offer an amazing range of quality products that will make your mouth water…and are really delicious!
They are my secret ingredient in many recipes and lift the flavour experience to the next level. eg put Redcurrant Jelly in lamb shanks at the end of the cook, serve Hot Chutney with a quiche, or spread Tomato Chutney across the pastry base of a quiche before adding filling. My top fave is Blueberry & Yuzu Jam on toast or on freshly made scones!! ..really yummy

I’ve always supported Beerenberg products and visiting here was a bit of a bucket list item; it didn’t disappoint. A massive range of ever changing products, it was great to see where it all happens and still with that family feel.
