Zen Thing is our 6m boat providing personalised (1, 2, 3 or max 4 passengers per cruise) on-water cruises showcasing Goolwa, Hindmarsh Island and the freshwaters of the Lower Lakes. One of the oldest towns in South Australia, the Port of Goolwa is the last stop of the Murray-Darling basin waters (6,500kms), is the birth-place of the Australian paddle-steamer river trade, and was the spark that developed the south coast (Middleton, Pt Elliot & Victor Harbor) and jump-started the economy of the entire State. History, shipwrecks, birdlife, fishing, power boating or just relaxing with a bottle of local wine, with a range of cruises from 30 minutes to 2 hours we have an option to suit any schedule & budget. If booked in advance we can cruise any day, or just call for information & availability.

Thanks Alister. Yes the history of Goolwa, both old & new, is a really interesting case study of British settlement in Australia - both the good & the bad. And being at the end of the Murray River means our history is not just about...More

Thanks Jan, when you head upstream you move away from the populated shores and definitely see more of the natural beauty of the Lower Lakes. And of course the only way you can explore the unique Finniss Channel is by The Goolwa Boating Experience :-)

Yes there are some really unique and diverse environments as we cruise upstream, and as well as getting a completely different perspective, many are only accessible from the water. And away from the populated areas you can really see the birdlife & beauty of the...More

Thanks for the review! With two tin lids myself one of the business goals was to be family-oriented and have personalised tours where the kids can be kids without disturbing anyone else too much. This means kids also feel that the tour is for them...More
