Absolutely brilliant country pub with great beers, wine and food served with a smile. This must be one of the best pubs in the county. Music nights are a treat with many talented local artists. Highly recommended.

Great music friendly pub under wonderful new management navigating through the Covid 19 Lockdown nightmare! Beer and atmosphere great when it was fully open. Great takeaway food is still available. Can thoroughly recommend the Friday Fish n chips and the gluten free pies are to die for!

Since being taken over by new management in the summer of 2020 The George has had an epiphany! A total makeover which has made the bar areas lovely and bright, light and airy and clean, wonderful new staff and owners who are welcoming and friendly and cant do enough for you, and during these difficult times of Covid-19 are doing all they can to help out the local community with running a pop up shop for essentials, and offering amazing takeaway food which is tasty and great value. Cannot speak highly enough of this little gem of a pub. If you get the chance to visit the area stick this pub on your list.

Northants best kept eating and drinking secret (Covid permitting!), and the absolute quintessential village pub. A free house dating back more centuries than scored by Joe Root, with a welcoming fire, an even more welcoming landlady, and more decent beers and real ales than you can shake a stick at; oh, and Monty the pub dog. The place has undergone a very sympathetic refurbishment, and the garden is large and quiet. The fare on offer for the hungry is a real high point though, whether it’s from locally baked artisan pies and pastries, also available for take away during lockdowns, to inspired occasional events like the visiting culinary geniuses of Gurkha Streetfood. If you’ve not had any of their Nepalese curries, you’ve not lived yet. Can’t wait to go back when the PM says we’re all allowed out to play again, and you should pay it a visit too.
