Great if you like early Romanesque frescoes which have had relatively light restoration. Church built into a rock so interesting construction.

This is a very impressive structure, built into the cliff face the church is on three levels inside, well worth a trip if you are in the area.

Pretty surroundings with wonderful views towards the Pyrenees and a play area for children just opposite. The church itself is of a very unusual design, being hewn out of the Rock and accessed by a cleft leading up through the rock. The Roman murals are...More

The Eglise is worth a visit. It has a number of levels which makes it a little different. It is unique and historical. No cost. Whilst in Vals you may like to visit Vals cafe for a coffee or lunch.

What an amazing place. The fact that it is built out of the rocks is fascinating! Fantastic entrance! The church is on 3 levels, but a bit in disrepair. Gorgeous small village with a new cafe which I hope to try soon. Free entrance

We stopped off here on the way back from a day out at Foix. This little place was amazing! The entrance to the church is cut into the rock. From here you ascend the stairs into the church itself. The church is modest inside, look...More

In the middle of a tiny village, this church is incredibly beautiful. Subtearanian entrance, ancient paintings on the ceiling, cavernous interior. The church is really simple, but the atmosphere is so peaceful. If you can sing, and are alone, have a go! The reverb is...More
