At the beginning of the tour we were told that we could leave our bags at the wardrobe in the entrance and that it is absolute save there. As you are in a nice place you don't worry about thieves there and that is why...More
The most beautiful place I have ever visited. Everywhere you look there is artwork, statues - it’s hard to explain when you think it’s also a private house. Carlos our guide was excellent, very good English.
You just must visit!

I happened to arrive unscheduled and unannounced (not at the daily tour time of 10am) and David very kindly gave me a tour of the house. David was extremely knowledgeable about the house, its pieces of Mexican art and the philosophy of its owners.
The owner's hospitality shines in this tastefully designed, expansive casa, filled with contemporary Mexican art. Definitely worth a follow-up visit. Possibly the greatest personal home you may ever visit. It has thousands of unusual Mexican artworks from furniture, tile artistry, pictures, paintings, sculptures, and many other objects. The owners live on the premises and often are your guides. Cost is a voluntary charity choice.

The tour begins when you knock on the door (once!). They ask for a donation of about 100 pesos per person, which goes to worthwhile local charities. The tour guides look after both the owners and the exhibits. This private collection is remarkable, built of a genuine love for Mexican folk art and a discerning eye for interest and beauty.
