We came early in the morning (around 8), snuck in through the dive shop and walked down the beach. The markers for snorkeling in the first 200 yards were a little confusing for us so we opted to walk a little further and went in...More

Pampered from dusk to dawn. So much to do. Water fitness, yoga, great shopping. A variety of shows. Saw a tribute to Abba and Elvis. Very accommodating and friendly staff.

Very clean and beautiful beach. Although we didn't see any turtles, we loved Akumal. What a great place for families!

If this was just a beach I would have no problem recommending it with five stars, but this is a beach with a hidden population of precious turtles. My personal opinion is that this haven for the turtles will be irradiated within a couple of...More

My last visit was 7 or so years ago when the bay was relatively quiet and the beach not that developed. Now every inch is taken up by hotels or restaurants, bars and stores. The beach is crowded and you will be inundated with people...More

Haven't seen any cabanas and it's often windy for umbrellas. Find a palm to sit under that doesn't have coconuts on it.
