A Mexican lady who worked for the local government in Chapala gave us a tour of the Ajijic Panteon (cemetary) on the Day of the dead. The Mexican culture celebrates dead relatives by cleaning their graves, decorating them, bringing food and having a picnic and...More

This quaint little cemetery is a good place to meditate upon:origin, meaning, morality and destiny. You learn more at a funeral than a wedding. It's in some places well tended and in others totally neglected. It's quaint and artsy all the way through. Enjoy a...More

I love going to cemetery's. They are very different in every country. It is a peaceful place to go and pray and think about our loved ones who have passed away

The cemetery is beautiful. The Mexican people have such respect for their loved ones. The location is easy to find and waking here is beautiful.

Coming from the United States, I don’t expect a cemetery to be filled with flowering trees, birdsong, colorful tributes, and music. I love the celebration of life, both past and present, that we were privileged to see.

My first trip to Mexican cemetery and worth the trip. Very colorful grave decorations and huge variety of markers. I was shocked and disappointed by how much trash was scattered about. Great for photos, lots of trees and flowers.

Cemeteries in Mexico are much more joyous and colorful than those NOB. I live near the Ajijic Cemetery, so I often walk through, looking at the decorations and reading the tombstones. Such a wealth of colors and decorations celebrating the lives from babies to the...More
