Ipswich’s little oasis beside the Bremer River, the River Heart Parklands offers a zero-depth water playground, spider web style climbing frame, 25 metre flying fox, a football field sized 'Discovery Forest', plaques with historical information and pram-friendly boardwalks along the river. At night, spot the river creatures that are projected onto the surface of the river.

The idea of a walkway along the river is brilliant, unfortunately the river is a bad shade of brown. It looks as if someone had a good idea but not enough money; every time it floods, the park goes under and the planners haven't worked...More

Walkway well kept, water / park area is popular with families, clean bathroom facilities, just don't look at the muddy river.

The new extension has done wonders for River Heart. Lots of water fun for kids of all ages, as well as BBQs, toilets and adequate seating. Great track for running or walking along the river. Deserves to have more events.

This was my second visit to River Heart Parklands, originally visiting shortly after it opened in 2007, since that time the gardens have flourished and become more established and the area appears to be still popular. Planning the time of your visit is highly recommended...More
