We spent a week in the Gaspésie and this was one of our highlights. The site - a small exhibition space and a large outside area, with teepees, wigwams etc. - is well-designed and a very interesting, interactive and multi-sensory experience. Our guide was Bianca,...More

Didn't know about this place. It was a great surprise. Very interesting. Kids loved it. Although the guide was young and un experienced, we did learn some cool stuff about the MicMacs. Children will love trying to start a fire with tools of the time....More

We took part in a conducted tour with a MicMac native who explained and demonstrated to us age old traditions and ways of making various things - including fire - a fascinating hour learning a lot about the original inhabitants of the area

Other reviewers praised Noel as a wonderful tour guide; and they were correct, very knowledgeable, and full of detailed information from one who has researched and done the processes used by the Micmac himself. Thanks Noel!

Has a small fee, worth the visit. Has small replica of a Micmac village and a shop with local crafts.

If you are interested in the First Nations, this site is a must see. There are excellent exhibits in the newly-built visitor centre but the visit to reconstructions of Miqmac homes with a knowledgeable guide was most informative. Thank you Noel.
