It was suggested to visit this church by the Turism Office and it is definitely a good idea: you see the reality of the italian Christian traditions of the Good Week. We got some explanation from the friendly staff.

These sculptures are carried in the Good Friday procession. The faces are filled with emotion and tell the story of the Passion of the Christ very well. There is a 1 euro offering to help pay for their restoration. Worthwhile if you are in Trapani.

Free to enter this church and it's a moving experience in this roman church in Trapani. The figurines represent a series of events and times around the death of Jesus and Easter.

I was a few minutes early to another event nearby, so I had heard this was a very interesting place to visit. I was overwhelmed with the Mysteries around the church depicting the stations of the cross. These are life sized depictions of the people...More

The church, the statues the painting and much more are all historic and beautiful. The facade is manificat! Immediately all need a professional restoration, especially the internal dome full of grass and damage maded by rain. Please take care of this church.

Not the most pretty church in Trapani, quite badly kept. But the wooden statues are the ones paraded around town during Easter week which are fun to have seen.

We had the luck to visit this church the Holy Week, when they were preparing the statues of "Misteri" for the Good Friday procession. A very emotional visit where you can still see the devotion and the love for the traditions of the Sicilian people....More
