What a cool place! A blast from the past as you walk downstairs into a 1920's vibe. Great cocktails, cool place and wonderful music. Just would wish for a better Chardonnay. $1.00 membership is fun too.

We were in the area to have dinner when we saw people next door paying a cover charge and descending downstairs. I walked over to ask the gentleman about the establishment. Dressed in a shirt and tie, he explained that it was a club with...More

Pay a one-time membership of $1, walk downstairs and drink in the scenery. Great cocktails, knowledgeable bartenders and a swanky speak easy ambiance, make this place a must visit when in Raleigh. Admittedly, Monday and Tuesday are not as exciting. They only open up one...More

We had drinks here and the rooms are all setup to be cozy, you can have a conversation with your group without having others shoulder to shoulder. The vibe is great, even as it gets crowded, only the bar is full of people, the rest...More

I have been there several times. When they have any music or event I cant get a drink. The last time, after being in line at the bar 20 minutes, they only had one bar section open, and only had 2 bartenders for a very...More

What a fascinating bar! Tucked away underground like the speakeasies it’s modeled upon, Watts & Ward is one of my favorite bars downtown. It’s got several rooms inside for people to spread out in, with several bars to order from, as well as a large...More

Love the speakeasy feel. Room after room, comfy sofas, wing back leather chairs, exposed brick walls. Relaxing! We did not eat that visit, we enjoyed cocktails, enjoyed the music and lively yet chilled atmosphere. Worth many return visits.

Great “form” of a speak easy. Dimly lite, nice layout, couches, bar stools rugs etc... although couches go fast!!! Drinks are exceptional. Only downside/ difference from a true speak easy is it’s not on the quieter end and no private areas sectioned off like most...More

The bartenders here are simply fantastic. And the campus is huge! Get a specialty cocktail (choose from the menu, or ask for a recommendation) and wander through the old library-esque downstairs to find a comfy leather chair from which to talk or people watch. They...More
