The course was built in the late 80s when Jack Nicklaus was creating very difficult courses that favored his favorite shot...a fade. PROS: ...The course has bent greens - only ones in the area that are not Bermuda grass and they were in very nice...More

A chilly December 28th at Pinehurst number 9. Pulled into the parking lot at 9:50 AM --only three other cars in the lot. Loaded up our clubs and went to the range to hit a few balls then we advanced to the number one tee...More

We used to play this all the time when it was National and loved the course. Now that is Pinehurst #9, we weren't impressed! I thought it would have taken the next step. The greens were slow, the tee boxes beat up etc... It's still...More

Pinehurst Number 9 is a joy to play as the layout gets better with every hole and it starts pretty dang good with those first two holes, a little dogleg left playing slightly uphill with a nice backdrop while sand traps guard front right and...More

This use to be a private course. It shows. Better then all the other resort courses except no8. Great test with big greens that have generous amount of slope, combined with many different tees to play from which makes it playable for everyone. Staff is...More

This is the type of setting that I expect when I think of taking a golf vacation. Pristine is the only word. After playing the bermuda greens at #2, Mid-Pines, and Tobacco Road, the bent-grass greens were a breath of fresh air. The course has...More

This is a private course that had been acquired by Pinehurst. It has both private membership and Pinehurst play. The course has many interesting holes. The day we played there was a tournament practice round so some of the pin placements were unfair. The course...More

Played Pinehurst #9 as the 3rd of four rounds of a golf trip scheduled through Tobacco Road Golf. Having arrived following a morning round nearby, the entry into the National Club was very impressive and more what we expected out of the other Pinehurst courses...More

Shortly after the US Open, Pinehurst Resort announced the acquisition of National Golf Golf. National is, if anything, even better than before. This Jack Nicklaus design is a challenge to even the scratch golfer. Tom Parsons (head pro) is the nicest pro in the Village...More

Our first trip to Pinehurst to play where the pros play. Sad to say this particular golf course is in serious need of care. The fairways are passable, the rough is non-existent, the tee boxes are torn up, the sand bunkers are not the fluffy...More
