One review we read classified this trail as moderate. When we stopped to seek directions from a local outfitting store and the clerk questioned that rating. Once we arrived at the trail head there was a description of the trail posted on a bulletin board...More

Hiked this loop of 3.6 miles. Views are fantastic but the 500 foot elevation climb on switch back is a work out. Took our time and enjoyed every minute. Gives you a chance to hike on the Appalachian Trail for a bit!

A little steep but wroth the hike. Great view of the French Broad River and Hot Springs. Take your time if you need to. Good apatite builder before lunch near town.

This was a reasonably strenuous hike and the view was just ok. If you are not in great shape, this would be a little much.

This trail is less than two miles. You start at the bridge and then travel alongside the French Broad River before ascending to the top of a hill with great views of the river and Hot Springs.

Lovers Leap Loop trail is a fairly easy hike. The trail starts out mostly flat and follows the French Broad River. The trail climbs through a series of switch backs. The ground is a bit rough so proper footwear is a very good idea and...More

We started the trail on the river side and came back down via the Silvermine trail. We didn't know it in advance, but we completed the steepest portion on the way up. And we were glad that we did it in that direction. The trail...More

Perfect length for younger kids, though I was a little nervous with the drop offs. They should put some rails up along some of the trail.
