Medoc Mountain is a great little park and hidden gem in the state park system, about 1.5 hours from Raleigh. There is a campground, 10 miles of hiking trails, mountain biking trails, equestrian trails, and access to Little Fishing Creek for canoeing and fishing. The...More

Medoc Mountain has great trails with varying terrain. The summit trail had more of an incline (hence the name) and other trails were much more gentle. I would recommend Medoc Mountain to anyone who wants to get out and experience some trails. Next time our...More

We had been unable to hike the Summit Loop Trail when we were here earlier in the year as the Little Fishing Creek had overflowed its banks and the bridges over it were under water. We always wanted to come back here as we had...More

Brand new mountain bike trails, very well maintained and groomed that run beside some of the most pristine fresh water in N.C. . Probably one of the best MTB trails east of Raleigh and a trip to Medoc State park would not be complete without...More

We rolled into this camp ground after dark a few days after Christmas choosing the first seemingly level site we saw. We plugged in with our 15 amp extension cord and crashed for the night. The next morning we found a beautiful camp site with...More

The park appeared to be nice but it just didn't jump out at me as being anything special. You can picnic, camp, canoe, kayak, or fish. They offer 10 miles of hiking trails and bridal trails. We didn't walk very far (just stretching our legs)...More

First stop on our state park-hopping road trip. Went down an easy trail to the river and back around. Out of the way park that is very quiet.

We camped at Medoc Mountain State Park for a couple days over Labor Day weekend in order to let a tropical storm pass through Hatteras Island before we arrived there. It was an unexpected stop, but we enjoyed it. The park had a few nice...More

Looking for an overnight spot to park our 37ft. + car tow, about 55ft total. Arrived just past 5pm, office closed so we drove through the RV campsites, tried to maneuver into 2 pull-through sites and they were not accommodating. Too narrow and curved. Sites...More

There are 12 hook-up sites with electric and water for RV's and there is a dump station. There are water faucets at various places for the tent sites.

Ours is a 32' class c. There were bigger class A homes there. Shouldn't be a problem. Roads in are nice, we came from I95 area , camping area isn't very big, but shouldn't have any problem maneuvering in there.
