Breath taking

This was hike was pretty and mostly shaded and so worth it to see the 404 foot waterfall. So beautiful and breath taking! Definitely go see this worth the short hike!

Beautiful hike
Jul 2021 • Couples
We wanted to try one of the hikes in the park besides just the Chimney and decided on this one since it seemed to be the easiest. It is mostly uphill so you're legs will get a workout and to access it from the top parking lot you have to take over 150 stairs down to the trail. Those stairs are a killer especially if you are not in shape (I'm not). But the Falls at the end are worth the hike. They weren't as full as I hoped they'd be but I'm sure they are fuller during the rainy season. Its takes on average about 45 minutes to 1 hour to do this hike round-trip so its not too bad. I'd definitely do it again but next time park at the lower parking lot to skip all those stairs.

Easy hike to the Falls
Jun 2021
After tackling the steps up to Chimney Rock, and the elevator ride down, we walked the easy trail to the Falls. I have seen better falls in my travels, but, I am not one to miss a waterfall near another attraction I visited. The trail to the lower parking lot was a moderate, 3/4 walk downhill with rough steps and footing for the most part. I have bad knees, which, were really sore after this trail. Take your time and enjoy the journey and shade if you want to avoid the bus ride to the lower parking.

Highlight of our day at Chimney Rock

Easy gravel trail to the waterfall. Shady so OK even in the summer. Can be crowded during peak times.

Fairly easy hike with great views of the falls
May 2021
Wonderful hike for two older adults. We are both 68 and in fairly good health. This was a great hike with some slightly hilly areas to climb, but the trail is kept in excellent shape. It is not a long hike and was easy to navigate, Wonderful views when you reach the falls . Beautiful scenery. People had their dogs and all looked so happy to be out and about. It was kinda of crowded and parking was at a minimum. But people are so ready to get out of the house as we were. I cannot blame them. This is a perfect way to get out and be in nature.

Beautiful Views, Nice Trail!
May 2021 • Friends
Incredible views of the waterfall! You could go right up to the bottom of the waterfall and get in if you wanted to. The trail wasn’t too difficult and it was well worth it for the views at the end! It was well-maintained and there was plenty of space for people passing by.

Inspiring!!
May 2021
This trail is .7 miles in lenth to the Hickory Nut Falls. When we were ntherenthe wind was blowing the water coming over sideways and what a show with the sun glaring in the mist. The trail is not hard. It is a gentle up hill climb all the way. It will take you a little over an hour to do the round trip.

The trail is great and easy. Our youngest was 7 but there were toddlers and elderly doing the trail. Worth it, great family bonding time.

Moderate hike for family
Mar 2021 • Family
This was a nice, moderate hike for us (out of shape parents and 5 year old). It’s about 1 1/2 miles total. It was about 30 minutes to the waterfall and 30 minutes back. Pretty easy trail, not too strenuous. The waterfall was very pretty. It was rainy and foggy the day we went, I bet it’s even more beautiful on a sunny day.
