The downtown area is really nice with a museums, parks, and a beautiful river. Definitely a cool stop on the way to the national park.

Done a lot here amazing views this one spot was high in the mountains went to the museum explains everything you need to know about the Indian tribe if your interested in Cherokee tribe it was a excellent experience

Shopping is the only thing you can do. Maybe some people can enjoy the museum, but the vibe is not really different than in any other place in the valley of the smoky mountains.

There are a lot of real Indians here. Most will sell you some special peace pipe-weed to take your journey to enlighten yourself on.
