Nice boardwalk with many benches. Begins at Marriott Courtyard and continues past Hampton Inn and several small motels with beach access. We strolled late morning. Slower season now so several places not open. There was a selection to stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and...More

I’ve heard Carolina Beach descrbed as unpretentious and I’d have to agree. I find the area a perfect opportunity to go on a “people” photo safaris. Lots of characters and interesting spaces.

Carolina Beach has become my favorite place to visit and enjoy the ocean. It has at least 2 oceanfront hotels from major chains (Hampton Inn and Courtyard) and it’s more accessible with more things to do than the other beaches to the north and south....More

The pier is well made with benches facing the ocean - though the dunes are high in most places so one cannot see over them from the boardwalk. It's a very short walk also and the shops are off the boardwark beside it not on...More

The 1 star rating is for Off season beach condition. That whole stretch of beach was quiet. There was hardly any activity, only a couple of stores were open. In fact I would say don't go during Off season which is when school starts back....More

Loved the boardwalk as a walking place. Many of the shops were closed and many shops were cheesy. This would be such a nice place for Carolina Beach to offer shops filled with unique items made by and from area artists and vendors. Instead most...More

First visit to Carolina Beach and the Boardwalk; have a feeling we came towards the end of summer peak season. The restaurants in around the boardwalk area only received mediocre reviews so we did not try any of them. The arcade and rides were opened...More

Nice place to just sit and swing on the bench swings that are installed along the way. Crowded during the day but after the beach goers leave it is nice. Plenty of places to eat.

This seemed different than other boardwalks in that it wasn't along the beach like most others. I saw a couple "rows" of shops off the beach - before the beach access walkway. It wasn't very much so you probably found it.
