Overview
More
At Black Mountain Ciderworks + Meadery, we craft genuine cider and mead from local apples and honey. We embrace the terroir of our Southern apples, fermenting cider in small batches blended from heirloom apples throughout the harvest and pressed in house. Our cider is real cider, never filtered or pasteurized, and we never add sugars, concentrates, or manufactured flavors. With mead, we focus on hydromels, meads fermented with a higher water content to achieve a lower-gravity, more sessionable mead. We find that hydromels are more approachable than traditional higher-gravity meads because they are more cider and beer-like (but still gluten free), and quite suitable for serving on draft.

This little hole in the wall is located in an industrial park and is a little tricky to find. Basically behind Pisgah Brewery. Stools at the bar and a few other tables. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. We had a flight of 6 for...More

It is small but they have many great ciders! They also welcomed our dog inside (it was raining out that day). The cider is not too sweet, which is great. They have growlers when you find one you like.

Strange af. We love cider but we stopped here and immediately regretted our decision. Creepy bartender and decor. Was looking for the hidden bodies. One and done.

We really enjoyed the refreshing tastes of the cider and unique meads. Highly reckoned on part of your travels through town. Its a bit hard to find but worth the effort and run by good folks.

Visited with a friend who loves cider and had been before. The owner was wonderful, passionate, and informative. Very helpful explaining everything as I'd never had much cider. Cider was great and I got a growler to enjoy at home.

We visited for their 4th anniversary party and got to enjoy a few new releases. A few notes - your GPS will take you to what looks like an industrial area. Keep driving around to the back and you'll see Black Mountain Ciderworks. An eclectic...More
