This place is just surrreal, one of only two places in world like it, a beach with not a single grain of sand, only coral grains in various stages of weathering and erosion. It feels so weird to walk on. One note of warning, do NOT come to this beach without sunglasses. My god the glare off the white coral in thew sun!

What a lovely spot to stop and go for a swim. The beach is so bright white. The contrast with the blue sky and the sea makes this very stunning. Take your bathing suite and go for a swim. There are toilets and changing rooms. Unfortunately lots of flies there, but yes, this is Australia.

Amazing. Beach is just crushed shells. And almost no one there with stunning views you must stop on way to monkey Mia. Wow.

Beautiful beach with shells and shells around. I enjoyed my time there and kids loved it because of the variety of shells they could see. A very different and unique experience.

Other reviews have said it already - a remarkable beach - more for what it is than what it looks like! I had a swim in the warm salty water and we did find the shells remarkable - but that is about it.

It is a shell beach, 10 meters deep shells. Unusual, and worth stopping on the way to the Shark Bay area. No swimming here, and most of the time very, very windy.

What a fantastic stop. 60km of shell beach .. made of the tiniest shells you will ever see and feel. Just beautiful. The interpretation boards at the area certainly helped to explain just how the beach became to be! Well worth a visit and certainly makes for a special photo.

This beach is totally made up of shells and worth a look if you are in the area. There are good information boards about why the shells are there and toilets. The beach is better than shown in pictures and the sea is a lovely colour.

The geology and biology of this area was fascinating and different to anything we had ever seen before - highly recommended.

Just a short drive - less than two minutes - good dirt road into a car park and yes there is room for parking if you are towing a caravan - enjoy - you won’t be disappointed.

Is Denham hot between end of November and early December? Tqvm

Define hot? Depends if you live in the Sahara desert or Alaska as to what you class as hot. Best time of year to visit Shark Bay is April to September. Anything outside that will either be windy as hell, or hot as hadies.
