These were great gardens and well treed, good paths, green grass (especially when the rest of the town looked like a desert). At night the main path was well lit which was very good as we navigated back from dinner

Fantastic restful place, tranquil with beautiful walks. Wonderful shady trees nice playgrounds and BBQ areas. Great place to picnic. People are always friendly and it’s opposite The Mill, The Vintage Bazaar and Das Kaffeehaus which makes great coffee. Highly recommended.

We visited Castlemaine on a hot day and so enjoyed the shade of the many old broad trees in the gardens, many dating back to the 1850’s. A pleasant pool and good amenities.

As is the case with most of Castlemaine, the Botanic Gardens present a great place to kick back and relax in a place with a view.
