Really nice day out on this vintage steam train. Make sure you stretch finances and book first class to experience the club car with outside rear viewing platform. The added bonus of a bar tops off the indulgent experience!

We went from Maldon to Castlemaine 2nd class. Volunteer staff very welcoming and helpful. Old carriages really lovely. Old engine didn’t miss a beat. Ran on time both ways. Even let dogs on. Lovely scenery on the way.

It is all on the website. Seniors get a "concession" fare. On a return ticket it is $45 economy and $65 first class fare ($5 off).

It is at the discretion of the Station Master for Excursion Class only. No dogs permitted in 1st Class.
