While the NYC Marathon says they run through all five boroughs they DO NOT run through Staten Island. They use the borough as a staging area and disrupt traffic. There is no location for Staten Islanders to view the elite runners or enjoy the marathon...More

Super tough course! A lot of bridges up hill, the exit was major chaos but overall mega good run tons of water and stations. Safety was mega good

If you want to do your first marathon this is the one to start with. 50k runners around you, more than 2 mio people on the streets and so much gooood energy. I did it twice and can't wait to do it again!

Each year the marathon has different routes to get the 26.2 miles in. I would check to see how the marathon is configured this year. Greenwich village is close by, so there should be ample routes to airport available
