This lake is so pretty. It offers a great green area for sitting and watching the boats and paddle boats. The village of Skaneatlas offers a lot to do and see.

I am always astonished how clear the water is in Skaneateles Lake. The whole community and area reflect the fact that, as a major water supply, there is more care given to the area. Prosperous and friendly, laid back with a plethora of great restaurants,...More

We spent a grey summer day exploring this historic town. Immaculately maintained Renaissance Revival homes line the streets off the main avenue, wonderful gardens, nice farmers market, enough shops, stores, casual restaurants and handmade ice cream parlors to keep anyone happily occupied for a day...More

Skaneateles Lake (aren't you glad you aren't a first grader who lives there and has to spell the name) is a beautiful, sometime very choppy lake in the Finger Lakes chain. At the north end of the lake is the beautiful town of Skaneateles that...More

34 State Street is a beautifully restored 1840's residential exquisitely decorated with modern bathrooms, mechanicals, electronics, etc. Bed & pillows best ever, excellent self serve breakfasts. Last but not least, Katie & Jack are wonderful hosts. We did not want to leave!

We try to make a breakfast date several times a year in Skaneateles. First go to the Skan Bakery and then go sit by the lake and have coffee and breakfast sandwich.
