About
The Saratoga Automobile Museum was chartered in 1999 and officially opened to the public in June 2002. The Museum’s mission is to preserve, interpret and exhibit automobiles and automotive artifacts. We celebrate the automobile and educate the general public, students and enthusiasts to the role of the automobile in New York State and the wider world. In addition to technical and design aspects, our educational focus is on the past, present and future social and economic impacts of the automobile. The Museum is located within the 2,500-acre Saratoga Spa State Park, in the heart of historic Saratoga Springs, New York, world famous for its legendary one-mile thoroughbred track. The Museum’s facility is the fully restored and renovated New York State Bottling Plant, a beautiful neoclassical structure completed in 1935.

    A nice small car museum
A nice small car museum. I especially went for the Bond car exhibit which was very interesting. The upstairs has a small collection of mostly racing vehicles which isn't really my area of interest so I didn't spend much time up there. The staff were very helpful. Overall, you probably don't need more than a couple of hours to go through.

Hubby liked this museum more than I did
Husband enjoyed this more than I did. I'm not that into cars. I was lucky to get the last available parking space in front of the building entrance. Once those spaces are occupied, you have quite the walk around the building in the rain. Museum committed the cardinal sin of running out of toilet paper in the ladies' room. Not nice. I've been carrying around a packet of tissues in my bag for this reason for the past 20 years. I feel sorry for the people that don't carry around tissues and that don't check the dispenser before they do their business. Please either check the bathrooms more often or leave extra rolls.

A fun hour or two for car enthusiasts!
We were in the area and decided to visit here because our college aged son is very into cars. Well, they have a James Bond exhibit now and I ended up feeling like a fan girl standing next to cars that Daniel Craig had actually sat in. What made our visit even better was Steve and Richard, two of the docents there. Steve offered to take photos of the three of us and explained a lot about the exhibit. Richard was in the gift shop and we had a great talk with him as well. The cars were all amazing, including and beyond the Bond exhibit. It's a small museum but you can see the great love and care that goes into everything. We had a great time and would recommend a visit if you enjoy cars and history. The 1912 Ford Model T was really cool.

    Automobile museum
Date of Visit: Saturday July 8th The history of Saratoga is the natural springs the town is known for. Bottling the water was a big industry back in the day, and the bottling plant is a huge historic building in the centre of The Saratoga Spa State Park. While the bottling is no longer taking place, the bottling plant has been given new life as an Automobile museum. The Automobile museum preserves and exhibits autombiles and related artefacts. The history of the automobile, and the role of it in New York state. While we were there, there was a special exhibit – “Bond in Motion” – a collection of automobiles and other vehicles that were used and featured in James Bond movies. The Aston Martins, the submarine, motorcycles, etc – all featured in 007 movies through the decades. The museum will appeal to the gear head and anyone while loves cars. The Bond exhibit is a temporary exhibit, and may not be there for long – but it the museum has plenty to engage visitors. The cost of the museum was about $20USD, which at first, we were a little surprised by but the museum is well worth it. It is not a huge museum, and would be easy to do the whole thing in about an hour. There is parking on site.

    Porsche raffle scam
Happy Holidays. Dont buy the chance to win a Porsche We visited the museum in the summer and bought a raffle ticket for the Porsche. For $25. Now I am solicited to buy a ticket and get 40%more chances to win. That's really not fair to anyone of us that bought a chance to win. Now you're selling the raffles cheaper by adding chances. I got one chance for $25. HOW can you change the rules and lower my odds of winning while giving others more chances to win for the same $25 :( Very disappointed in the integrity of your organization. Not our fault if your marketing failed and you didn't sell enough tickets. I will be sure to share on social media in and around Saratoga.

Great stop on our way through town. They had a variety of vehicles to see. James Bond exhibit was very nicely done. Loved the TVs showing the scenes of the movie which the car was in.

WOWZA - So glad we did this! Hubby and I are car enthusiasts and this was right up our alley.

It's not terribly big so getting around in a few hours (if you read all the fun info at the cars) is enough time.

The James Bond showcase is there until December and boy did they do great job!

Upstairs was so cool! (Not adding too many pictures so I dont give away all the WOWS)

Staff super nice (Karen at the front and gift shop A+++) all the information around was great.

Might become members! Loved it!

They are currently showing vehicles from James Bond movies and they actually have quite a few on display. The problem is that's the only interesting stuff there. The museum has two floors, but the second floor has 2 interesting Italian designed cars from the 30's and some midget race cars and a few full sized ones. It took use about 10 minutes to see the second floor because there was nothing really interesting there.

The Bond exhibit was better with several of expensive Aston Martin's, BMW's, etc. One of the issues for me was the lack of information signs about the cars. What they went for were tablets with the information on them, but they were timed so you have to watch long clips from the Bond money before getting to the information screen. I think they could have done better with just a printed information card along with the tablet showing the clips. We went through the entire museum in less than an hour and paid the senior admission of $15 each. Not worth it in my opinion. I wouldn't waste my time with this place.

Horrible experience!! They denied me my Veterans discount. A very disrespectful obnoxious lady made me pay full price of $20. It's not worth $5. Took only 10min to see whole exhibit in a filthy museum. I will NEVER go to Saratoga again! Horrible!!

My wife and I (from the UK) visiting my son, daughter in law and granddaughter ..
A very welcoming reception by 2 gentlemen at the entrance who pointed out the contents of the museum.
Downstairs, the impressive James Bond/007 display was well presented with video descriptions accompanying each exhibit and enough staff available to help further explain.
The upstairs floor featured a number of unique sporting automobiles used in American motorsports, plus a couple of European (quirky) designs of questionable desirability.
The gift shop on the way out provided a good variety of products, and everyone agreed it was a good afternoon out!
McLaren to Aston Martin, Lola etc it’s always good to see British automotive design being recognised
