Yaddo Gardens is a lovely place to reflect or stroll around the gardens. It is very peaceful, and the flowers and statues are beautiful. I especially enjoyed seeing all the different varieties and colors of the gorgeous roses in bloom when we visited the third week in August.

Smaller than I expected but lovely.

Go when roses are blooming. July 4 there were plenty of roses.

Not as nice as the rose garden in Schenectady.

Nice sculpture and fountains.

Must be less enjoyable 9 months of the year when roses are not blooming, because there might be little color at other times.

Was fortunate to go on on of their Open House Public tours to see the insides of the two main buildings - so this is not a review of their lovely gardens. What an incredible place full of history, beautiful art, antiques, incredible woodwork and gorgeous Tiffany windows everywhere! How luck for the Yaddo artists who are able to stay in such an inspiring place

Had never been inside the gates…that was a mistake! This is an oasis inside of an oasis and well worth the trek inside. The grounds are really nice.

Beautiful gardens. Free admission. Lovely, peaceful stroll. Gorgeous, colorful roses, pretty statues, a sundial and a pergola. All beautiful. Very near the racetrack.

Beautiful property to explore. Dog friendly as well. Beautiful place to have a wedding. The roses are magnificent. Many commented on a nasty old man in a pick up...we saw him a couple times...he didn't say a word to us.

Don't be spooked by prior reviews written when Yaddo Gardens was closed for pandemic-related reasons. The gardens recently reopened to the public and are lovely to visit. (Check the website for hours and tour info, as well as a self-guided walking tour PDF.) The street entrance leads to a small parking area that might hold around twenty cars. There were just a handful of cars when I visited, though I'm sure it will be getting much busier in the coming weeks. A short stroll through a shaded, wooded area leads to the gardens which are lovingly maintained by volunteers. One needs less than an hour to wander and explore the bucolic setting. Very enjoyable and peaceful. Nice place for supervised children to experience a natural, beautiful setting. Perusing the gardens is free, but there is a fee for tours, as I understand it.

finally had a nice sunny day! So, I wanted to show my fiancé where I held the service of my mother who had passed years ago, she loved gardening and roses and taking us kids there when we were young so it was the ideal location for her service(10 yrs ago) my fiancé is not from around the Saratoga area so he had never heard of yaddo gardens. To My surprise the gate was WIDE OPEN! Even passed someone leaving as we came in! So we went for it, we realized the trails to the pergola were snowed in so we had to go up and turn around and THEN we were driven off the road by an Absolutely ABSURD man who we assume is JUST a GROUNDSKEEPER in a Ford F150. We had no way of getting around this pyscho, He clearly has issues... He screamed, threatened us, flung the door of his truck open HITTING MY VEHICLE, swearing at us and honestly all we could say was we’re sorry we’ll leave, we didn’t know, you need to calm down..... and the man continued to scream at us as if we were teenage vandals!!!!! we’re in our 30 and 40s. we’re adults. Literally just wanted to show my fiancé a beautiful piece of saratoga and this is what we got!!!!!! Whatever committee is responsible for the yaddo needs to reconsider what kind of animals you have taking care of this property- its a shame so many people will miss out on this place because of the psycho “caring” for it!!! but as you’ll read other reviews, you’ll notice that that poor garden has fallen to HELL and looks awful and clearly NO ONE is taking care of it - if they can get past the grumpy little troll in the big mans truck!!! sooooo disappointing.

I ran to the entrance Yaddo gardens planning to meet a friend there. When I arrived there was a sign that said it was closed. I waited outside the gate until my friend arrived - the gate is on the edge of the highway. A man drove up on a golf cart berating me about trespassing. He suggested I stand on the highway. Keep in mind I was outside of the gate below a public stop light. Before his power trip was over my ride came to pick me up.

Other reviews also mention this man who clearly has some personal issues, but it was enough for me to not want to return or support this place.

Seeing pictures of this garden does not do it justice, it is even more beautiful in person! It is a great backdrop for engagement and wedding photography as well as senior portraits.
