About
The Saratoga Performing Arts Center is home to an acoustically ideal amphitheater, the Spa Little Theatre, the Charles R. Wood Gazebo Stage and The Jazz Bar — all nestled in an idyllic park setting surrounded by hiking trails, geysers and natural mineral springs. Our main stage has a 25,000 person capacity with sheltered seats for 5,200 people and a sloping lawn for an additional 20,000 people. The stage is home to New York City Ballet and Philadelphia Orchestra performances. For many of our classical performances, tickets start at $25-$49 for lawn admission and children under 12 are free on the lawn (not applicable to Live Nation concerts or Philadelphia Orchestra movie nights). SPAC also rents the venue to Live Nation to host their pop, rock, and country concerts.

The audio in the lawn isn’t the best and depending on where you sit, it may be hard to see the tvs. You can only see the stage if you are immediately next to the front gates to the lawn, the higher up the hill you go, the less you can see of the actual stage. The lawn is also very rowdy for popular artists. There can be a lot of drunk fights and people bumping into you. I’d definitely recommend getting actual seats to the concerts instead of the lawn when it’s affordable to do so. I do think that spac does need to upgrade their audio during this off season though, it sounded very grainy and outdated this year!

I wouldn’t even bother getting lawn seats again. It’s honestly not worth it. I couldn’t hear a thing because the venue is way oversold for its size capacity and there’s no speakers in the back. the screens weren’t even showing the performer so we couldn’t see anything (since we didn’t have a view of the stage either). the venue would be nice if we could see or hear something the nature part is nice and i like the trees. i just think it’s not built for such massive crowds. :(

What a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE venue. Small venue with way too many people. Shows are over sold and people are left with no choice but to watch bands on TV. Maybe thats whats supposed to happen but coming from out of town and not expecting this was a huge let down especially when I've brought my son to his first show. Entry is difficult. People wait in long lines for 2 people per entrance to take parking fee. Lines backed up for miles. I paid $50 for premier parking and still waited in lines forever. No indication on the interactive map where premier parking was so I waited in 1 line just to be directed all the way through the other end of the park and sit in another line. And rather than use multiple lanes to turn into parking areas there is just 1 lane to parking areas from what I saw. Horrible. Inside, the lawn and seated areas are small. They have a 2nd level over the stage which makes seeing the stage from anywhere but the seats and the small lawn area just outside the seats of the amphitheater, impossible. I guess people are content watching it on small screens. Not even jumbotrons. Pretty sure the 75 in screen in my living room is larger than the screens they have around the park. Horrible. If you do decide to see a show here, buy a seat, come early and be patient. I imagine traffic out is just as bad as traffic in but I wouldn't know because I left early. I couldn't possibly have had such a horrible experience just to make it worse by sitting in 2 hrs of traffic. Will never come back.

We went to the DMB concert on July 15. We never saw the band, unless you consider a very small TV monitor "seeing the band". The only way to actually see any of the performance is to buy $600+ seats in the arena. There were 1,000s of people outside of the "arena" on what is apparently lawn seats. They don't tell you that the actual lawn seating is for a few hundred people. Everyone else is sprawled out over several acres with the only view of the stage via small monitors. DMB could have been in another city broadcasting for all I know. I will NEVER go back to SPAC, NEVER.

My family went last night to see the N.Y.C. ballet. The show was fantastic. Going through line and security was quick. The bathrooms were clean. There were plenty of seats to eat in and out of the sun before the show. We spent $27 for 3 pretzels and 3 waters. Our seats were inside and were comfortable. All in all, not a bad experience!

Amazing sound and very easy venue to access for parking, great amenities, best restrooms at a public venue (ever!). Need to be able to walk a fair distance from the regular parking lot.

There were no security personnel inside the venue. Not only were the guests high and drunk they were unruly. There is no text for security as we have experienced at many other venues. The pot was just overwhelming. My husband was threatened by one guest who was so high/drunk he could barely stand. We love DMB, but we will never return to this facility.

I attend an average of three concerts per week as I have for the past forty years. I have been to SPAC only a half dozen times and each time the experience of attending becomes less satisfying. After last evening's visit I will never, ever return. I work very hard for my money and it feels like throwing it away the moment I reach the venue. My main concern is that I paid a premium price to sit undercover in the shed to see and hear the artist. However, the venue allowed people to stand in the aisles and block the view of the stage. The paid ushers and security allowed this to continue the entire evening. I am so disappointed. It is a nearly three hour drive for me to SPAC. To arrive at the venue and then be forced to pay a parking fee when there is no alternative way of reaching the venue is insulting. For the venue to allow an anything goes attitude within the shed is insulting. The rotating billboard screens continually encourage the purchasing and consuming of alcohol beverages, and unfortunately the patrons do purchase, consume alcohol beverages in excess and become loud, obnoxious, bullying and the staff do nothing. Never, ever again. SPAC is at the top of the list for worst concert performance venues. SPAC customer service should be reaching out to offer refunds.

Went here in June to see the TLC/En Vogue/Shaggy concert. We are from out of the area. Signage for concert parking was terrible. Once we got inside the venue and saw how beautiful it was I thought it would be a great place to watch this concert. I was wrong. We had ticketed seats down in the amphitheater section. Because they also sell tickets for the grass we had to show our ticket every time we would leave that area and have to go back in. There was only one person at each entrance so we had to wait in a line every time. Then they sold so many grass seats it was hard to maneuver your way around once you got out into that area. There were so many drunk and stoned people there who did not have much respect or consideration for others. As I was walking around I had a drunk girl run into me and bounce off of me into the grass. Then there was no organization at the women's restroom. They had no lines or any type of organization to handle the heavy traffic of women going in and out and many kept butting in line and people were getting angry. The toilets were overflowing and I had to walk through who knows what to get in and out of the restroom. People were drunk and stoned and confrontational. I couldn't even stand to stay for the last act because I could not fathom the mayhem of these people. In my opinion this venue sold too many tickets making it a very uncomfortable experience. Will never go here again, nor will I recommend.

This venue is unsafe, plain and simple. It is oversold, poorly run, lacking security, and disorganized. It is a miracle that no one was injured at the Dead & Co shows; I would never return.
