    A day at the races!
For parking, if you cannot get free parking on the street, suggest you find parking just outside the main entrance (won’t be too far a walk). We were there with a fairly large group of people and were fortunate to have some great organizers who saved us a few picnic tables near trees and right by the path where the horses passes by to and from the track. Note: gate opens at 7 am to save a table. Bring a table cloth and clips and remember where it is. Our lunch was catered which was great (barbecue by a local place) and there were plenty of refreshments. You can bring your own beverages in plastic bottles (no glass allowed). There are plenty of clean bathrooms. If being out in the sun does not appeal to you, you can take refuge in the building where the grandstands are. There are plenty of options for meals and snacks but it was quite pricey. You can spend the day watching the races, placing bets and people watching. Lovely to see folks dress up and the ladies with their fascinators. If planned properly, is a nice day out with friends or family. Definitely recommend this experience.

    ONCE N A LIFETIME
I am not a horse-racing fan but I went and enjoyed my afternoon here. It was an experience to see the serious betters and the fashionably dressed women who were there to be seen. Colorful! Lots of food vendors and souvenir vendors. My only complaint was Grandstand had to be accessed by stairs or escalator. An elevator would have made it easer especially for handicapped people. I even placed a small bet but did not win.

    A Day at the Races!
We just spent the past three days going to the track. What an incredible atmosphere, especially on Whitney Day. Thousands of people picnicking, dressing to the nines, and enjoying racing. The ability to get right up to the horses and jockeys is pretty cool. I recommend a day at Saratoga Racetrack for every race enthusiast.

A Must Experience for the Racing Enthusiast
We spent two days visiting the track for the horse racing, and another morning for the breakfast and tours. First, the negatives - the reserved seating is pricey. The food and drink options are limited at their restaurants and bars, and they are also pricey. The food and drinks that we had were good though. The specialty drinks at the Porch by the paddock were the best. The atmosphere is exciting, and there is a buzz all around the track property. The picnic grounds and the number of people making a day of it was something to see. As the track allows you to bring in coolers, most people packed in their own food and beverages. Even in the reserved covered grandstand seats, people had small coolers with beer and wine in them. What a great way to offset the high prices. Our first day, we had a table in the Four Star Dave Bar. It was great to have a designated place to use as our base. The service was attentive, but sometimes a bit slow as there were only three servers for the entire area. Their were betting windows near the bar and plenty of tvs for watching the races. It was easy for us to walk outside to the track to watch the races live. Our second day, we had reserved grandstand seats. Being under cover in the shade made it worthwhile. We had a good view of the track, and it easy to access the betting windows, concessions, etc. Our morning visit was for breakfast trackside and a tour to a local horse farm. This package must be booked well in advance online. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We sat near the rail and were able to watch the horses during their workouts. Then, we boarded a shuttle to the farm and had a great visit to Old Tavern Farm. While at breakfast, we learned that there were also tours of the track available. After visiting the farm, we had time for the track tour prior to the racing. The tour walked all over the property and pointed out many things that we had missed in our previous days at the races. We even got to go stand in the Winner's Circle.

What a great town! We stayed at Saratoga Casino. Very elegant . Lots of new slots and virtual caps, roulette. Great shops in the downtown area. Lots to do in this area. Very historic and beautiful in the fall. Nice getaway.

I really enjoyed our experience inside of the race track. The club seating was very nice and well maintained, the staff was friendly, and there were a lot of very good food options in the track. The issue we had was outside in the parking lot. They “sold out” of handicap parking. They then made us park with our handicap placard about a mile walk away from the gates. They offered no golf cart transportation or anything. They apparently need to expand their handicap parking, as I saw many elderly people walking in this way with us with canes and walkers! This is not handicap accessible in any means! The person in our party was in pain all day because of this. Also, the “handicap” section was tiny and I’m not sure how you can legally “sell out” of handicap parking.

Was amazed at how large this Race Course is with the majority of the population in a massive picnic area.
The grandstand tickets food and drink are pricey.
Unfortunately there were 14 horses during the 2023 season that had to be euthanized after breaking down during a race and we had to witness a couple of those tragedies.
Race course has a nickname “Graveyard of the favorites” You can know add “Graveyard of thoroughbred race horse!” Sad!

As a seasoned visitor to the track, we were not impressed with the new ticketing prices. They claim that doing away with the traditional grandstand and clubhouse entrance fees, they provide fair access to the track for one low price of $10 per person. This may sound great, but it merely gives you access to full sun bench seats trackside. Looking behind us at the partially filled stands felt wrong. You can sit there but need to spend yet another $30 upwards to several hundred for the inside seat. Third party vendors purchase available seats and then resell them to you at obscene prices. It just felt wrong that such a beautiful historic landmark, a place I always loved to visit has gone this route. The place itself is amazing and watching the horses is exciting but knowing this takes place saddens me.

We had the breakfast on the terrace which was a typical hotel buffet breakfast. The price was reasonable for the atmosphere of watching the horses. The staff was very friendly and courteous which added to our enjoyment. Following breakfast, we took a backstretch tour which was entertaining as well as educational. The guide was great and appeared to really love what he was doing. Again, the staff made the day worthwhile.

After breakfast and our tour, we had an hour wait before the track opened. We decided to venture inside with a bunch of others looking for a shaded spot to sit until it officially opened at 11:00. We were shouted at to "get out!" as the track was officially closed at 10:00. This wasn't something we were aware of, and his hostility seemed unnecessary. We were directly behind a family with small children so were taken aback. This may be the training security is given as no other member of the staff was rude or disrespectful.

If you are going for an exceptional day in a historic venue and have never been there, this would be a wonderful place to visit. For me, it just wasn't the same Saratoga because of the new pricing and seating. Food and drinks have always been outrageous but understandable. The seating though...not for me.

Tickets for seats in Row A in section V of The Cutwater Stretch are NOT worth the money at ALL. You get a wristband for nothing. No service at seats, not able to sit in bar area, no outside water or soda allowed etc… had to walk up and down many steps to bet, eat, drink etc and throw away our own trash.
Why are the allowing this ? We paid over $190 for Nothing!
This is a one and done. Shame on you Saratoga.
Even Belmont treats fans better!! Will be letting many regular Saratoga fans know about this section and it’s false advertising on the website.
