The movies are not first-run movies. The venue is very old school. They only take cash at the door. Often they do a double feature. Overal, a good place to go and see a movie on a Friday night.

Local neighborhood movie theater offers discounted admission to see second run films. One screen and a friendly house cat offers a more intimate experience than multi-screen franchise theaters. A Rochester tradition not to be missed! Perfect paired with dinner at Highland Park Diner across the...More

My husband and I absolutely love the Cinema Theater. We go every couple weeks. You cannot beat the price - $5 for a double feature. The popcorn and soda are also incredibly inexpensive. The seats are comfortable and the workers are friendly.

Can't beat the price for a double feature. Food prices also so much more reasonable than most theatres. Food portions also more normal than at the chain theatres.

Seeing a movie here is like taking a step back in time! The owner is a great guy - very friendly and welcoming. They pride themselves on their popcorn, and all snacks are reasonably priced. This is a cash-only business. Parking is across the street,...More

It was interesting to read that the theater, in its early days, had wooden benches on a dirt floor, and was affectionately known as the "Flea Pit". After missing several opportunities to see Les Miserables during its primary run, it showed up at Cinema Theater....More

This is the last of the city neighborhood theaters in Rochester, showing second run and some art house flicks. It has been lovingly maintained by dedicated owners who are film buffs and committed to the neighborhood. Evening double features and afternoon matinees are a fraction...More
