The 'art' inside the castle has no merit whatsoever. The re-furbishment of the castle is monotone and without imagination or reference to the history of the castle.

Absolutely beautiful fairy-tale style castle complete with moat near the town of Kleve. I have to admit we were not looking forward to the interior with it's modern art collection but we actually did enjoy most of it! There is also a collection of 19th...More

I like this castle which is surrounded by water and in a very good shape. Worth to see especially during xmas time when there is the christmas market in the garden next to the castle.

We were surprised, and somewhat disappointed to find the inside of the castle had been converted onto a modern art museum. If you have a camera with you, they will require you to sign a affidavit that you will not post the photos online. Since...More

We paid entry to see a nicely recontructed castle, only to find that the interior has been modernized into a sterile boring interior. Only a small exhibit shows the history of the castle, rest is art that does not suit my taste bur atmosphere is...More

Really great museum just outside of Kleve that houses the Joseph Beuys-who was born in Kleve-Archive. A nice exhibition showing the context of his work in a biographical manner. Much of the exhibit is from printed archives, but it's quite well done. The grounds of...More
